TPS – Status Updates

For those of you who receive temporary protected status, or TPS, you know that there has been a lot of stress and fluctuation over the past 4 years.

Here are the current updates:

  1. The following countries are still designated for TPS:

2. Haitians and Venezuelans not previously eligible for TPS may now have an opportunity to apply.

3. El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan have had their work authorizations extended through December 31, 2022. South Sudan has had their designation extended through May 2, 2022.

4. TPS recipients are still eligible to apply for a travel document to temporarily leave the United States. Traveling outside of the United States can both benefit and harm your immigration case so you should always contact an immigration attorney prior to travel.

If you have a case in immigration court and are eligible for TPS you may be able to terminate / dismiss your court case. Call Dubrule & Nowel, PLLC today to review your options and to be kept up to date with future changes to immigration law.
